Erasmus+: Kľúčová akcia 2:

Strategické partnerstvá v školskom vzdelávaní

Project objective

Project objective

Our effort will be focused towards the development of a comprehensive toolkit to include all four mentioned project outputs. The bespoke collaboration between a leading publishing house, academics, astronomy experts and schools will not only contribute to the high quality of the outputs, but will also ensure that our target groups will be served through resources that are extensively tested and evaluated to ensure maximum applicability, usefulness and potential for further exploitation.

This project has been funded with the support of the Erasmus+ Programme, KA2, Strategic Partnerships in School Education.

Project results

During 33 months of the existence of the project STARS, we will work on the following intellectual outputs which are connected with each other and together they create one unit:

  • STARS Methodological Handbook for Teachers (O1) - a ready-to-use resource for teachers teaching astronomy related subjects at lower secondary education to equip them with relevant methods and techniques on how to make topics interesting, easy to grasp and develop students critical thinking, analytical and abstract reasoning
  • STARS Training Program for Teachers (O2) - a program which will offer an innovative and comprehensive approach to enhancing teachers´ practical skills to deliver relevant instruction. The content of the program will be developed as text files and digitalised to allow for distance learning.
  • STARS Online Platform (O3) - an OER (open education resource) which will allow for all other outputs to be used after the end of the project. The innovative aspect of the platform is with regard to its format, content, as well as the plans for its future development.
  • Online Platform
  • STARS Concept for Astronomy Education Program (O4) - a description of an idea of how the astronomy related topics can be better presented as curriculum and syllabus at lower secondary level and how to strengthen the presence of astronomy at lower secondary level.
  • Concept for Program
